While some areas were disappointing with how empty they ended up being (Flooded Archives had a lot of potential), they still offered something I felt was somehow missing in Shadow. It did have a feeling of being the first to enter these ancient spaces in a very long time for a lot of it. definitely agreed about the grand puzzle spaces. :/ Which is so weird because I thought I'd like this game better but, something about it just puts me off I guess.īut anyway. I can hardly get through a second playthrough of Shadow. I still like Shadow, but I replayed Rise 4 or 5 times.
#RISE OF THE TOMB RAIDER ICE SHIP HOW TO#
CD seemed to know how to better give things a grand feeling when entering certain spaces. I liked that EM finally listened with a lot of the additions (difficulty settings an whatnot) but idk. Hate to say it, but maybe Crystal is still the better developer for the game at the moment. something about Rise was just better put together imo. I think this is part of why I still prefer Rise over Shadow overall.
What I mean by wow factor is that when I see it for the first time it has to visually stun me. Ancient Cistern, Voice of God, House of the Afflicted, Catacombs of Sacred Waters had the wow factor not present in Howling Caves, Path of the battle, Ancient Aqueduct, Thirsty Gods. And even the optional tombs in Rise had the epicness that Shadow did not. Ugh, never again! And more annoying that repeats in 2 optional tombs.
And Flooded Archives is much better than Cenote where they mixed the puzzle with combat. And the cathedral in the Abandon Mines from Rise is fantastic when you see it. The Pyramid room in Cozumel tomb it did not had that. When first entering the big room where you need to increase the water level to get to the coffin in the Prophet`s Tomb has that amazing feeling to it. I didn`t get the WOW factor from them like I did from Rise tombs. Is that Shadow tombs to me lacks EPICNESS.
And I am not talking about puzzles difficulty here.Īnd I am not implying that the tombs in Shadow are bad. From the start I want to say that this is NOT a negativity thread.
